Our story
A brand built around one material, and the people who shape it.
Wovenhome began with a simple observation: cane furniture in India was either sold as inexpensive, disposable seating, or as expensive “heritage” pieces styled for a very different era. Neither felt right for how people actually live now.
We’re a Bodhicitta Creations brand working directly with artisan workshops across India to design cane furniture and home essentials for contemporary interiors — pieces that hold their own next to modern furniture, not in spite of being handmade, but because of it. Every product on this site is designed in-house and produced by the same small teams of weavers, not sourced anonymously from a catalogue.
Design philosophy
Three ideas guide every piece we make.
Material first
We design around what cane can naturally do — bend, breathe, catch light — rather than forcing it into shapes borrowed from other materials.
Contemporary, not costume
No faux-rustic styling. Our pieces are meant to sit comfortably in a modern apartment, not perform 'heritage' for a photograph.
Slow by necessity
A hand-woven piece cannot be rushed without breaking down. We've built our timelines around the craft, not the other way round.
The artisans
Made by name-able hands, not an anonymous supply chain.
